On September 22, 2025, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), led by Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil L. Gavan PCG, hosted a solemn donning and oath-taking ceremony at the National Headquarters in Manila for two newly promoted officers of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA):

This milestone aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to recognize the vital role of PCGA members in humanitarian missions and maritime civic service.
In his remarks, Commodore Romero II PCGA reaffirmed his commitment to the PCG’s mission:
“Together, we will continue to advance the mission of the PCG—protecting lives, securing our maritime domain, and upholding the sovereignty and dignity of our mission.”
Also in attendance were Auxiliary Commander Yongsoo Samuel Cho PCGA and Auxiliary Lieutenant Andrew Maquiling PCGA, whose presence further strengthened ties between the PCGA and its strategic partners in the private and diplomatic sectors—reflecting continued support for the newly appointed officers and the PCG’s national mandate.
